How to Get Started: The Raw Data Path
Utilize Existing Genetic Profiles
To use our analysis today, you must provide your Raw DNA data file. We recommend Ancestry.com as the most affordable and comprehensive entry point currently available. While we accept data from all major providers, our goal is to make discovery accessible to everyone.
Future: Sovereign Lineage Branded Kits
We are currently on the hunt for the most cost-effective testing technology to launch our own Sovereign Lineage Labs branded kits. Soon, we will offer our own all-in-one testing solutions, including specialized mtDNA and Y-DNA haplogroup kits for direct maternal and paternal line tracing.
How to Download Your Raw DNA Data
If you have already tested, follow these steps to get your file. Once downloaded, you can upload the .zip or .txt file directly to our portal from your order confirmation page.
1. Ancestry.com (Recommended)
- Sign in to your Ancestry account and go to the DNA tab.
- Click Settings on the right side of the DNA bar.
- Scroll down to the "Download or Delete DNA Data" section and click Download Raw DNA Data.
- Follow the security prompts to confirm your identity via email.
- Once confirmed, click Download Raw DNA Data in the final email they send you.
2. 23andMe
- Log in and click your Profile Name in the top right corner.
- Select Settings and scroll down to the "Your Data" section.
- Click View under "Download Raw Data."
- Review the warnings, check the box, and click Submit Request. 23andMe will email you when the file is ready (usually within an hour).
3. MyHeritage
- Log in and hover over the DNA tab.
- Select Manage DNA kits.
- Click the three dots on the right side of your kit and select Download kit.
- Follow the instructions to confirm via email and download the file.
4. FamilyTreeDNA (FTDNA)
- Sign in and click Download Raw Data in the "Autosomal DNA" section of your dashboard.
- Select the "Build 37 Raw Data Concatenated" file option.
Completing Your Submission
After you finalize your purchase, you will be directed to the Order Confirmation page. This is where the final step of your journey begins. On this page, you will receive a unique access code along with a secure file upload portal. Simply enter your provided code and upload your existing raw DNA file (in .zip or .txt format). This secure link ensures your data is correctly synced with your specific order, allowing our laboratory to immediately begin the sophisticated process of reconstructing your lineage.
